Bellalusso Crewel-weight Wool from Fleur de Paris

Threads!

Do you miss Medici?

Those of you who lament the demise of DMC’s crewel-weight wool are going to LOVE the thread from Fleur de Paris! FdP bought the entire stock of Medici when it was discontinued, and set about developing an equivalent line. Have they ever done it right!

The new line is called Bellalusso, and it lives up to its name. The hand is absolutely spectacular! It has a distinct advantage over Medici in that it’s 100% Merino wool (think the “Ivory” of Silk & Ivory) instead of tapestry wool.

For those of you not familiar with merino wool, it’s thinner than tapestry wool, which makes it glide through the canvas. Use as you would Medici, two ply for 18-mesh, three for 13-14-mesh. The line is so new, colors are still under development. I have all current 88 colors available in 45-yard skeins ($3.25). Every luscious shade can also be special-ordered in 350-yard hanks ($9.50).

Special Offer: From now through 31 August: 10 skeins of your choice for $28.
