One of the pleasures of owning Come to the Point! is perusing all the fiber arts information that comes across my desk. Most of what I read brings me joy – and makes me wish I’d win the lottery! Occasionally, I run across something that makes me shake my head and wonder what we’re doing to this lovely planet and to each other. This page compiles information regarding local charities that need donations. I am pleased to offer the shop as a collection point. Items can be dropped off at any time. If we're closed, please slip them in the mail slot underneath the hours sign. There is also an address to send any and all needlework supplies you know you’ll never use. If you know of other local programs, please let me know.Scarves for Congregation Rodef Shalom Tzdek (Social Justice or Social action) is important to the Jewish tradition. One onjoing program at the congregation is providing scarves for the homeless. All styles are welcome. North Bay Coast Guard Spouses’ Club Layette Program! Marin Golden Treads, the local chapter of the Embroiderer’s Guild of America, needs knitted and other items for its pay-grade-based outreach program. Blankets. hats, socks, sweaters, all are welcome. Baby, toddler, and items for older children are also welcome, as are gift cards from stores such as Target. Clean out your stash and help others land on their feet! The ladies need sewing, knitting, crochet, embroidery materials, anything related to Needlearts.
